On April 3rd, 2025, we hosted:
- Sylvain Michel (Geoazur, ENS, France): 14 Years of Slip History of the Hikurangi Subduction Zone
- Whitney Behr (ETH Zurich, Switzerland): The role of interface rheology on large-scale subduction dynamics : constraints from the field, the lab, and numerical models

The International Research Network Andes-FrenSZ aims to federate French research teams involved in interdisciplinary research on subduction zones, enhance their international visibility and facilitate their collaborations with international partners.

The scientific objectives of the IRN Andes-FrenSZ are to better understand the behavior and dynamics of subduction zones, and to characterize and anticipate the associated telluric hazards (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides).

To receive information about the IRN activity of interest for the French community (national meetings, etc...), you can register to the IRN mailing list
